Full Timber Frame Homes
Experience the bold and timeless beauty of a full timber frame structure.
At Pacific Timberworks traditional wood to wood joinery is used to create handcrafted timber frame structures.
Rather than using dimensional lumber such as 2” x 6” that would normally be found in a typical stick-frame building, traditional timber framing is a method of constructing wooden buildings and structures that are exposed to the interior and exterior of a building. Using heavy squared-off sawn timbers as vertical posts, horizontal beams and angled roof rafters all structural loads are directed down into the foundation. Diagonal brackets are incorporated to stabilize the structure and all timber frame joints are connected with each other utilizing traditional mortise & tenon, dovetail and half-lap joints that are secured with hardwood pegs.
The building envelope can be finished using SIP’s (Structural Insulated Panels) or framed in using more environmental friendly/recyclable components. If incorporated, these timber framed structures can become spectacular focal points of your project.
